Traveler:
The Putnam Traveler began publication in Fall 2003.
This new newspaper promotes the Putnam area as a tourist and shopping destination
and is a collaboration between the Putnam Merchants Association, the Antiques
Marketplace, Global Design of East Putnam and the Town of Putnam through its Redevelopment
Agency. In addition to news and advertisements about travel destinations
in the area, the Putnam Traveler features a welcome from Putnam's Mayor and articles
about antiques and other wares, as well as places to visit, dine and stay. The
centerfold features an illustrated map of Downtown Putnam and an accompanying
business directory to guide visitors. Other maps identify destinations in Pomfret,
Woodstock and adjoining towns. The pdf files for each issue of the Putnam
Traveler are large and can take some time to load, especially with a dial-up connection.
